Making pottery is my passion. There is no doubt about that. Selling pottery is just hard work. This year has taught me that.

Craft Show Haze

This fall, I feel like I have been in a haze. A craft show haze. Since Labor Day, I have been at a show almost every weekend. As a one-man operation, that means my entire life has been consumed by shows for if I wasn’t at a show, I was driving home from one, packing or unpacking the trailer, taking inventory, washing the tablecloths, drying out the tent…you get the idea.

Not in the Studio

Where I was not was in my studio for any substantial amount of time. This sucks. Throwing pots is my passion but I hate when I don’t have the time to really find my mojo and throw, throw, throw.  For me, I can’t just turn it on or off. So I learned this year that I have to plan, plan, plan for each craft show season. That will be real work for me, those of you who know me well know that!

Home at Last

But now I am home. I am thankful for all the wonderful people I had the chance to meet and talk to at the shows I attended. I am grateful that so many of my pieces found new homes this fall. I appreciate the support so many have shown me over the last year. And I am ready to do it all again.

Studio, here I come! Look for Oddbowlz at a craft show near you…next spring.  Meanwhile, you can always find me here or, at least once a month, even in the winter, at the Downtown Rogers Farmers Market.

Peace, love and pottery!
